Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is the precise and complex system of combining specific items from the Chinese herbal materia medica (roots, barks, berries, fruits, shells, minerals, leaves, and grasses) to create recipes and  formulas focused on restoring physiology and synchronizing interconnected systems in the body. Classical herbal medicine provides the body with what is needed to boost function in targeted areas. Formulas are designed influence the body and provide what is needed for shifts and healing to occur.

Chinese medicine can be used to treat a full range of acute and chronic conditions and is safe and effective and for many conditions. It can be used for anyone and everyone including babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and seniors.

Wild Roots now has a raw herb dispensary. We are fully stocked and ready to go.

There are no rare or endangered animal parts used at Wild Roots in any formulas or prescriptions.

Chinese herbal formulas can include up to16 ingredients! We have over 200 herbs in office!

Chinese herbal formulas are individualized and very specific to each person. When I design a formula I am taking into account your emotional health, digestive health, sleep, hormones, aches and pains, eating habits, stress levels, if you get colds or infections frequently, etc... The formulas are aimed to target a couple of areas specifically but ultimately the recipe supports the whole of you; so that your overall health benefits.

Once we have started working together, stabilizing the functional aspects of your body and easing stress and anxiety, you may take breaks for a long time and then something new pops up and you come in again and try herbs for another issue. Maybe you break your leg skiing and want to use herbs to help heal and repair. Maybe you get pregnant, or go through a hormonal shift, or receive a diagnosis that opens new doors in your life, or your job changes and you feel new and increased levels of stress and you can't sleep or develop digestive problems. Herbs can be used for all of these things and so much more.

The raw herb powders are dosed out each day and simmered for 5 minutes with water. The tea is strained and then drunk.

Chinese herbs are not designed to be needed forever. This is a question I get asked a lot. You can take a series of formulas until you feel like you are at a place you want to be and then stop. That is totally fine. For some people that is a few months, others a year, and for some they take the herbs and continue using them for all kinds of things over the years.

I look forward to helping you get started with Chinese herbs!
